They *might* be able to film the impact, if it ocurcs during the night, otherwise only radar tracking would likely be able to note the event. Hubble is pointing outward and would not be utilized for such a purpose, as it would be very difficult.

Heat waves . you see them coming off of your car on a hot day . same thing with your mirorr, but you notice them a lot more as you magnify more. They distort the image quite a bit, it's not terribly noticeable under 100x, though.
